Boys Basketball:

STATEWIDE SPORTS

The Red Wings lost to New Jersey 5-1 last night. The only Red Wings goal came from Lucas Raymond, his 10th goal for the season. Detroit’s next game will be against the Florida Panthers on Friday at 7 p.m.

On a more positive note, the Pistons beat the Golden State Warriors 122-119. Sadiq Bey scored the game winning three pointer at the buzzer. Six Piston players had double digit points. Bojan Bogdanovic led the way with 29 points. Detroit has another game tomorrow against the San Antonio Spurs at 8 p.m.

In college basketball, Michigan beat Penn State 79-69. Hunter Dickinson led Michigan with 17 points. Michigan will play Michigan State Saturday afternoon.

In college football, Michigan wide receiver Andrel Anthony enters the transfer portal. Michigan State defensive end coach Marco Coleman is leaving the team to return to Georgia Tech.

Lions safety Deshon Elliot returned to practice yesterday after missing Sunday's game with the Bears. Lions are a 4 1/2 point underdog at Green Bay Sunday night.

15 finalists were announced for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2023. Zero Detroit Lions were among them.

Finally, Bills Safety Damar Hamlin is showing signs of improvement but remains in critical condition.
